Firsts

A few weeks ago, my loving husband finally broke down and decided I could get the DSLR I'd been eying at work. I've always loved photography and I've always thought I had "the eye" for it, so I wanted to give it a try. There's still so much that I have to learn, but I'm enjoying every step.

My mother spends an outrageous amount of money every year on birthday and Christmas pictures of her grand kids. There are 5 of them all together, the only saving grace is that my nieces are twins. She's been an avid fan of the Sears Portrait Studio since I was a kid. I have to say this first, I am not putting Sears down. Up until we went for my son's pictures in June, we hadn't ever had a problem with them. That's 20+ years and no problems. After this last session had to be shot twice and it took us 3 months to get our photos, I decided to talk my parents into something. I convinced my mom to let me do the Christmas and birthday photos from now on. She went with it, with only minimal hesitation.

Saturday, I'm doing the first "session". I'm beyond excited. Who doesn't love photographing their babies? My head has been spinning with ideas for props and locations. I can't wait!
